blood of my blood — vampire teeth
blood of my blood — vampire teeth
the iconic imagery of plastic vampire teeth made realistic. complete with blooded fangs — rendered with glass seed beads, garnet beads, and a large garnet droplet*.
*after some deliberation, I decided to go with lab-grown garnet for the teardrop. I generally avoid manmade gems in my work, but I wouldn’t have been able to get a teardrop bead of this size in natural garnet, and regardless it would have cost an exorbitant fee. ultimately I felt it more important to keep the cost of the embroidery as affordable as possible (but didn’t want to go with a plastic bead).
this hoop has a 4” interior, 4.75” exterior. black cotton. back of the embroidery is closed with bamboo felt and my maker’s tag.
additional note — this piece has first iteration pricing. what does this mean? the very first time I embroider a new design, it is very likely that I will hit a number of roadblocks as I figure out the best way to bring it to life. this extra time of experimentation gets counted into the time spent creating the piece, aka the final cost of labor. in order to offset this, this first edition is generously discounted. if this design is made again in the future, there is a good chance it will be set at a (much) higher price as I will have a more accurate count of hours put in.
